Boil water order lifted in Gray

A boil water order was issued on Oct. 16 for Gray Water District. It was lifted Tuesday after further testing.

GRAY, Maine — The Gray Water District lifted a boil water order Tuesday.

The order was originally put in place on Oct. 16 because of unsafe water, according to Gray Fire and Rescue.

The water district said customers can resume normal activities after running water for three to five minutes, according to a Tuesday social media post.

"The test results we just received were from samples taken yesterday, so if you've run your water for five minutes since yesterday afternoon, there's no need to flush it again," the post stated.
