PORTLAND, Maine — A man accused of showing a handgun while threatening to shoot customers at a restaurant Saturday in Portland was taken into custody Monday during a high-risk search at a residence on Kellogg Street, police said during a press conference Tuesday.
Police said dispatchers received a call around 1:50 a.m. Saturday from a restaurant located at 408 Forest Ave., where a man was allegedly displaying a gun and threatening to shoot customers there before two people who entered the store with him removed him from the restaurant. The sound of gunshots was also reported.
The suspect, who police have identified as 25-year-old Anthony Lobor, reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived, but evidence of a gun being fired was substantiated after a bullet casing was found in the parking lot, police said.

On Monday, a surveillance team found Lobor at a residence located at 42 Kellogg St., which is in the area of East End and Munjoy Hill neighborhoods, but officials decided at the time that it would be too risky to apprehend him, as there were several small children present, according to police.
Around 5 p.m., the surveillance team attempted to take Lobor into custody. He was arrested after a brief pursuit on foot after he had fled, police said.
Deputies searched the residence located at 42 Kellogg St. later Monday evening and recovered handguns and several other firearms, including a fullyautomatic rifle, gun components, drugs, cash, and evidence of drug trafficking, according to police.
NEWS CENTER Maine sent crews to the area Monday night where Kellogg Street was seen closed at the intersection of Monument Street around 8:50 p.m.
Lobor faces charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, threatening display of or possession of a concealed weapon, and violation of conditions of release.
