Portland police execute 'high-risk' search warrant resulting in arrest

Few details were released Monday evening, but police said an arrest had been made. A press conference has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday.

PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police announced Monday that an arrest was made during what the department described as a "high-risk" search.

The department posted on its social media account just before 8 p.m. that the search warrant was executed on Kellogg Street, which is located in the area of the East End and Munjoy Hill neighborhoods.

Portland police did not release many details, citing a continued investigation, but they did state that an arrest had been made.

The department said more details about the search and arrest could be expected in a forthcoming news release.

NEWS CENTER Maine sent crews to the area, where Kellogg Street was seen closed at the intersection of Monument Street as of 8:50 p.m.

The Portland Police Department announced Tuesday morning in a news release that the agency would be holding a press conference at 1 p.m. to address the recent arrest and to discuss "gun violence in the city."
