BANGOR, Maine — A local woman has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting April 2 in Bangor.
Olivia Babin, 20, was arrested in connection with the homicide investigation stemming from a fatal shooting on Highland Avenue early Tuesday morning, Bangor police said Thursday in a news release.
Police responded to a residence there around 4:20 a.m. for a reported altercation and upon arrival found a man suffering from a gunshot injury.
That man, identified as 24-year-old Daniel Ford-Coates of Bangor, was brought to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was performed by the Maine chief medical examiner’s office, which determined the manner of death as homicide, according to the release.
Detectives investigating the shooting obtained an arrest warrant for Babin, who was taken into custody and brought to the Penobscot County Jail.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
