PORTLAND, Maine — (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- When Chef David Turin offers monkey bread in his Portland restaurant, David's, he knows it will disappear quickly. Here's the simple, yet delicious recipe, best served warm.
40 oz. Frozen pizza dough (or make it from scratch)
1 1/2 cup Sugar
1 tbsp. Cinnamon
Melted butter
Let the dough sit to room temperature. Toss it onto a floured cutting board and cut it into chunks. Toss chunks into butter, then toss in cinnamon/sugar mix. Drop chunks into a greased bread pan. Cook in oven set at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Let cool slightly before turning upside to empty pan, otherwise the bread won't maintain its shape.
