New releases from Bull Moose include re-release of Ghost of Paul Revere album

Chris Brown from Bull Moose joins 207 to talk about new releases.

PORTLAND, Maine — Chris Brown from Bull Moose is sharing new releases this week. Here is his list:

David Gilmour – 'Luck and Strange' (CD, vinyl, Blu-ray)

David Gilmour said that his new album is his best work since "Dark Side of The Moon." It’s too early to say that, but we can understand why he might feel that way. He brought in a younger producer named Charlie Andrew, best known for producing Alt-J. There are some other new, younger faces on the album. It comes across like a slightly more modern version of a David Gilmour album.

LL Cool J – 'The FORCE' (CD, vinyl)

FORCE stands for “Frequencies of Real Creative Energy.” LL Cool J seems inspired on his first album in eleven years. A few years ago, he scrapped an album he was working on with Dr. Dre. Producer Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest seems to have given LL Cool J what he needed to create an engaging and sonically interesting album.

Ghost of Paul Revere – 'Believe' (white vinyl)

This CD has been in Chris’ wife’s car since it was released more than 10 years ago. The 2016 black vinyl edition is the top-selling local vinyl LP in the entire history of Bull Moose. Now you can get it on white vinyl. The white skeleton on the front cover now is printed in gold foil.

The Heavy Heavy – 'One of A Kind' (CD, vinyl)

The Heavy Heavy call themselves “retro-inspired,” which could mean anything. In their case, try to imagine slightly slowing down some of the Rolling Stones’ mid-1960s hits and adding a Farfisa organ to some tracks. The Heavy Heavy has co-lead vocalists, one woman and one man, which gives a sunshine pop feel to some songs. The overall sound is a nice mix of modern and retro.
