BIDDEFORD, Maine — On Monday, a Saco man was arrested and charged with murder in connection with a Biddeford homicide investigation.
Maine State Police Tactical and Crisis Negotiation Teams arrested 25-year-old Lorenze Labonte at his Temple Street home in Saco around 6:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Investigators will reportedly be executing a search warrant at Labonte's home throughout the evening.
Labonte is charged with murder in connection with the death of 27-year-old Ahmed Sharif of Lewiston, the release said. Biddeford police were called to an apartment located on State Street on Friday afternoon for a reported shooting where Sharif reportedly died from his injuries. Police said Sunday his death was ruled a homicide.
Labonte's first court appearance is set for Tuesday in York County District Court, the release said.
