Portland police arrest suspect in August gas station robbery

Police arrested 39-year-old Martin Larsen of Portland on Monday, officials say.

A Portland man is facing charges of robbery and theft in regards to a gas station robbery that occurred on Forest Avenue on Aug. 24.

The Portland Police Department arrested 39-year-old Martin Larsen of Portland on Monday, according to a social media post made by the department.

On August 24, around 2 p.m. Portland police were called to Riverton Gas Station at 1585 Forest Avenue for a robbery report.

"An unknown male entered the establishment with a white mask and a baseball bat. He demanded money from the clerk and departed the store towards the Riverton School with an unknown amount of cash," the post stated.

Police said a K9 attempted to track Larsen but was unsuccessful.

Larsen faces charges of robbery and theft.

No further details were given.
