BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor Police Department arrested a man from Exeter for the murder of 27-year-old Dylan Caruso of Corinth, who had been missing since September. Three other people are facing charges related to hindering the case.
Police began searching for Caruso on Oct. 8, according to a press release by the Bangor Police Department released Wednesday. He was reportedly last seen on Sept. 30 in Bangor.
Caruso's body was discovered on Oct. 23 in a wooded area in Exeter, the press release said. The department did not disclose who found Caruso's body. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta ruled his manner of death a homicide.
After an investigation by the Bangor police, in conjunction with the attorney general's office and with assistance from Maine State Police, police arrested 35-year-old Kenneth Creamer of Exeter on Tuesday and charged him with murder, the press release said.
Creamer made an initial court appearance Wednesday. A date for his arraignment has not yet been scheduled. The affidavit is impounded until that arraignment, according to the clerk's office.
Arrest warrants were also issued for 31-year-old Dylan Boyce of Exeter, 32-year-old Holden Melvin of Charleston, and 31-year-old Dylan Belanger of Corinth. They are facing a charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution, according to officials.
Boyce was charged Tuesday while he was being held at the Somerset County Jail for an unrelated crime. Belanger was arrested Wednesday in Bangor without incident, the release said. In an update Thursday, Bangor police said Melvin was arrested Wednesday by the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
