A mother and daughter who were found dead last month at a business in Farmington have been ruled a homicide.

Police were called to Pawsitive Dog Kennel at 274 Red Schoolhouse Road around 10:45 a.m. Dec. 27, when they found the bodies of 76-year-old Jean Robinson and 53-year-old Allison Cumming, both of Farmington.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled their deaths a homicide after conducting autopsies on their bodies, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a release Friday.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, Farmington police, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the circumstances of the women's deaths, in collaboration with the Office of the Maine Attorney General, the release stated.

Moss said the cause of the women's deaths would not be released at this time.
