MAINE, USA — Maine State Police said its Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) K-9 Marley is doing "paw-sitive" work for the agency.
State police introduced Marly to the public in April. So far, he has had 35 deployments, according to a social media post from Maine State Police. He has assisted in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) search warrants, Major Crime Unit (MCU) investigations, and requests from other agencies in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Marly has also found 60 total devices and is credited with rescuing 10 children by Operation Underground Railroad, according to officials. Operation Underground Railroad is an organization dedicated to ending sex trafficking and child exploitation. Marley also provided emotional support to child victims, the post said.
"Many of the devices found by Marley have been considered key pieces of evidence," the post said.
Marley also recently attended a Halloween event at Togus Hospital in Augusta and dressed for the occasion! He interacted with kids and provided demonstrations on finding devices and obedience, according to Maine State Police.
"Marley is a true hero," the post said.
