PORTLAND, Maine — As the name suggests, this 6-year-old can be an absolute angel. She'll curl right up against your leg and sit on your foot while you pet her, or snuggle on the couch with you. She does have a wild side, though, specifically driven by anxiety in new situations.
Janet and Jim Heard have been fostering her in their home for about five months through Passion For Pets Rescue. Janet said before that she was fostered in a few different homes, overall not living in a stable situation for about a year now. Janet said that Angel came to their rescue organization through a surrender when her family became homeless.
Angel knows basic commands like sit, she's potty trained, and according to Jim, she isn't the kind of dog that will rip your house to shreds when you leave her alone. That said, she does have anxiety. She was a little stressed out by the new smells and sounds of our studio and had a hard time sitting still.
Janet said she'd really like to see Angel in a home where she can ideally be the sole child; a home where she can get discipline and structure, and calm. Janet said Angel loves car rides, so she could also see her becoming a road dog with a truck driver.
