MAINE, USA — January has been a cake walk. But we have a lot of Winter left and it's about to turn kind of harsh around here. An Arctic blast is marching south with the coldest air of the season. Temps will struggle to reach 20 for highs through the weekend and lows at night will go below zero for most towns, providing us with the coldest temps of the winter. Wind will add insult to injury too, as wind chills will be way below zero at times.
Aside from the cold, the other big headliner is a potential nor'easter next week. This storm is currently dropping inches of rain in California. The energy from it will slice across the country, link up with a digging trough in the East and bomb out off the Mid-Atlantic. Many of the big cities on the East Coast will end up getting snow. That snow shield will make it into Northern New England Tuesday and may linger into Wednesday.
This has big snow potential and if everything lines up we could see a foot. Check back for updates throughout the weekend.
