Todd Gutner Blog - Back to the Deep Freeze

Our crazy stretch of weather continues this morning. Temps have dropped from near 50 yesterday afternoon to the teens and single digits this morning and ice is a pretty big problem again. My hunch is that most of the roads are fine but if you didn't throw down sand and salt last night, your driveway and walkway may be a sheet of ice. Walk cautiously so you don't end up in the emergency room with a cracked wrist.

For the first time in a while, a tranquil weather pattern is evolving and most of this week will be precipitation free. Perfect conditions for last minute shopping and errands.

Little if any precipitation is expected through Thursday. (COURTESY: NOAA)

A storm system will travel from the Great Lakes to Southern Canada Thursday and Thursday night. There does appear to be some offshore redevelopment, but most indications are that it will happen a little too late in the game to give us anything substantial.

Nonetheless, there's a chance for snow late in the week, and the best chance for accumulating snow will be over the north and mountains. We'll keep you in the loop in case something changes.
