PORTLAND, Maine — The first few hours of our day were wild, but the improvements will move in fast. The afternoon will be much better with some sun along with balmy temperatures.

MIDDAY:
AFTERNOON/EVENING:
As the worst of the storm settles and passes, our attention turns to the coastline and the incoming mid-morning high tide. The new moon phase is approaching, and tides this week are the highest of the month. Surge and monster breakers will cause some problems, and roads closures and beach erosion will be possible.
I hate to break the news to all of you, but we're going to do this all over again on Saturday. A similar storm with snow changing to rain, gusty wind, and a coastal flood threat is set to blast through New England. We'll get you more info after this current storm passes.
