Rising humidity, localized flash flood threat to end the week in Maine

A cold front will spark showers and thunderstorms to end the workweek with heavy rain.

MAINE, USA — We will see the humidity slowly rise throughout the day Thursday as a southwest wind takes over. It’s all thanks to air rotating around high pressure anchored to our south out ahead of a warm front and cold front to the northwest.

Look for periods of rain on Friday as showers with thunderstorms get going before daybreak in New Hampshire and move into Maine.

The showers will be scattered for lunchtime.

By late afternoon and evening, the rain gets heavier.

The greatest threat is for localized flash flooding, especially in southern and western Maine.

More than 1 inch of rain is in the forecast for local areas.

Humidity will be on the way down for the weekend, just in time for the TD Beach to Beacon 10K.

As a matter of fact, it will be nice and warm, with humidity quite comfortable by August standards.
