MAINE, USA — This snow has kind of flown under the radar in the wake of last weekend's historic weather. It's not a very large storm, no wind or coastline issues, but we haven't had steady snow fall for an evening commute yet and I fear driving isn't going to be good at all later Tuesday.
Snow will overspread the area later Tuesday morning and become steady Tuesday afternoon. There will be several inches on the ground by the evening commute, making for a sloppy mess.
The Maine Turnpike Authority said Tuesday morning that speed limits on the turnpike have been reduced to 45 miles per hour due to the snow.

Snow will continue into the evening then taper off, allowing for most towns to get underway on the clean-up effort by midnight. This should prevent problems from lingering into Wednesday morning.
The snow will be on the lighter and fluffy side, but over a half a foot may fall, especially through the Central Highlands and northern Maine. A little rain will likely mix in along the Downeast coastline, where I expect towns to be on the low end of the 3-6 inch range.
As always, we will keep you updated every step of the way, so keep checking back for any updates.
