PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — JetBlue Airlines will now offer daily flights between Boston and Presque Isle beginning in September.
Daily service from Boston Logan International Airport will begin Sept. 5 between 8:45 and 10:10 p.m., and daily service from Presque Isle International Airport will begin Sept. 6 between 5:45 and 7:10 a.m., according to a Friday press release from the airline.
JetBlue officials said same-terminal connections will be available to popular destinations like Florida, Las Vegas, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
"We are excited for the opportunity to bring Boston flights back to The County while also offering the community access to their top destinations around the U.S., Caribbean, and beyond through our large focus city at Logan International Airport," Dave Jehn, vice president, network planning, and airline partnerships of JetBlue, stated in the release. "We thank the U.S. Department of Transportation for selecting JetBlue for this new Essential Air Service route. We take our responsibility of offering northern Maine reliable, high-quality service seriously, and look forward to introducing the region to our award-winning JetBlue experience."
Presque Isle City Council Chair Kevin Freeman shared excitement about the new service for the community.
"The City of Presque Isle and Aroostook County are pleased to begin a new chapter in airline service partnering with JetBlue," Freeman stated in the release. "We are eagerly awaiting to experience JetBlue's renowned innovation and creativity which will expand and grow air travelers' experiences in our region."
To celebrate the launch, JetBlue is offering $59 one-way fares.
