Frontier Airlines announces nonstop flights from Portland Jetport

The "ultra-low airfare carrier" will offer nonstop service to three major cities.

PORTLAND, Maine — Frontier Airlines has launched nonstop service from Portland International Jetport (PWM) to three major cities.

Starting May 16, the "ultra-low fare carrier" will offer nonstop service to Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The airline will also add nonstop service to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) starting May 21, according to a news release from Frontier Airlines.

With the new routes in place, Frontier will serve a total of five destinations from PWM, with fares as low as $19, the release stated.

The airline currently offers flights to Orlando, Florida and Raleigh, North Carolina, according to its website.

"We’re thrilled to increase our service out of PWM with these three new routes," Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design, at Frontier Airlines, said. "Our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ means consumers in Maine have access to travel that is convenient and affordable."

Flights to ORD, PHL, and CVG, will be available three times a week.
