Motorcyclist, 17, dies after crash in York

The teen was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where they later died, according to police.

YORK, Maine — A 17-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday after crashing in York.

The crash happened shortly after 8 p.m. on Cider Hill Road, York police said Wednesday in a release.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they immediately began treating the victim. The teen was then taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where they later died, according to the release.

The motorcyclist was the only person involved in the crash, the release stated.

Police said they would not release the motorcyclist's identity until the teen's family has been notified.

The crash remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by the York police, according to the release.

The York Village Fire Department and York Ambulance also responded to the scene.
