PORTLAND, Maine — The Portland Water District posted on social media Wednesday afternoon notifying the public about a water main that broke in downtown Portland.
In the post, the water district said crews were repairing the break around 1 p.m. on Pearl Street and Middle Street. The post advised those living or working in the area may experience low water pressure.
Because portions of both streets will be closed until crews fix the break, the water district suggested drivers avoid the area to "reduce congestion."
