South Berwick crash leads to road closure

Officials said drivers should seek alternate routes.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine — A road in South Berwick was closed Friday morning while crews worked to clear a scene of a crash in which a vehicle struck a utility pole. 

Witchtrot Road in South Berwick was expected to be closed for an extended period of time Friday after a crash brought down a utility pole, wires, and a transformer. 

In a 5:50 a.m. social media post Friday, the Berwick Fire Department said the road was closed at house number 234.

Officials said drivers should seek alternate routes.

Officials have not provided any further details on the crash.
