Scarborough road partially reopens as officials respond to crash

As of 1:30 p.m., the road was back open to one lane of traffic between Ridgeway Street and Spring Street, the Scarborough Fire Department said.

SCARBOROUGH, Maine — A section of Gorham Road in Scarborough closed Thursday as emergency officials responded to a crash.

As of 1:30 p.m., the road was back open to one lane of traffic between Ridgeway Street and Spring Street, the Scarborough Fire Department said in a social media post.

A pole was struck in the crash, and several traffic lights in the area of Payne Road and Mussey Road were not functioning for a period of time, according to police. As of 1:30 p.m., the traffic lights were back on but there were still traffic backups in the area.

The Scarborough police and fire departments responded to the scene.

Gorham Rd Update: Gorham Rd is open to one lane at this time. All traffic lights in the area are back on although traffic in the areas of Gorham Rd, Payne Rd and Mussey Rd remains backed up.
