Road rage incident leaves Standish man with serious injuries, police say

The crash happened early Tuesday morning in Gorham.

GORHAM, Maine — A man from Standish was seriously injured in a crash in Gorham early Tuesday morning, and police said the crash was the result of a road rage incident.

The Gorham police and fire departments responded to the crash on Ossipee Trail at Brady Brook Hill around 4:45 a.m., according to a release from the police department.

A preliminary investigation indicated that two men from Standish, 32-year-old Dane Tupper and 43-year-old Casey Perry, were driving east in separate vehicles when they got involved in a road rage incident, the release stated.

The vehicle being driven by Perry left the roadway and struck a guardrail and a utility pole before it came to rest down a 30-foot embankment, police said.

Gorham Ambulance took Perry to a local hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to police.

The crash investigation remains ongoing, and Gorham police are reconstructing the crash with the assistance of Windham police.

Gorham police ask that anyone who witnessed the crash or any actions prior to it call Sgt. Michael Coffin at 207-222-1660 ext. 1.
