WESTBROOK, Maine — Travelers headed through Westbrook may see some delays during their evening commute due to a crash that brought wires down and closed a major road on Wednesday.
The Westbrook Police Department posted on X, formerly Twitter, shortly before 4 p.m. a crash happened at the intersection of Route 302 (Bridgton Road) and Duck Pond Road that brought down a telephone pole and wires into the middle of the road.
Route 302 was closed due to the crash. Police said to expect significant delays in the area.
Westbrook police also said on Facebook that Central Maine Power has been notified and is responding to the crash. There is no timeline for reopening the roadway, police said.
No additional information was provided regarding possible injuries or circumstances related to the crash.
