CAMDEN, Maine — A crash in Camden caused a road closure and several power outages Friday evening.

Washington Street between Cross and Spring Streets was closed after a crash caused "significant damage" to utility infrastructure.

Camden Fire & Rescue said on social media the road closure applied to all traffic except for residents who live there.

Central Maine Power said repairs are estimated to be complete by 8 p.m., according to the social media post.

As of 5:30 p.m., the Central Maine Power Outage Map on its website showed 76 customers without power. All power outages were restored as of 7:15 p.m.

In an update at 7:15 p.m., Camden Fire & Rescue said Washington Street remains closed, but the closure was shortened to between Cross and Trim streets.

"Central Maine Power has restored their lines, but communications and cable lines are still across the roadway," the update said. "A detour is still in effect and will remain there until approximately midnight."

Motorists were advised to drive cautiously around the areas.
