Closures expected on Route 201 in The Forks as crews clear crash scene

THE FORKS, Maine — Route 201 in The Forks is expected to have several closures on Thursday while officials work to clear the scene of a crash involving a tractor-trailer.

At about 10:50 a.m., Maine State Police said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that a commercial vehicle enforcement unit with Troop K is assisting at the scene of a crash involving a tractor-trailer unit on Route 201 in The Forks.

The enforcement unit is reportedly assisting the Somerset County Sheriff's Office, according to state police.

Troopers said it is expected to take several hours to clear the crash scene with intermittent shutdowns of Route 201.

"Use caution in this area and plan accordingly," the post stated.
