YORK, Maine — A man in York Harbor captured video Tuesday morning of what appears to be the SpaceX Polaris Dawn capsule flying over Maine.

Jeff Guerard, a lobsterman, was out hauling traps around 5:45 a.m. when he saw the ball of light in the sky.

"I just looked up. I said, 'What is that?'" Guerard said.

He immediately started recording the video on his phone.

"I continue to watch it. And then I saw,  you know,  like two things come off the side of the thing," Guerard said.

When he got home, he looked at the clip he shot and zoomed in on the dome of light.

"Holy mackerel. Look at that thing. I said, there's clearly vapor coming off of something. You can see something very, very bright," Guerard said.

It could have been the SpaceX Polaris Dawn capsule.

A SpaceX capsule carrying four private citizens blasted off early Tuesday on a five-day mission that is set to include the first spacewalk carried out by an all-civilian crew.

The mission, known as Polaris Dawn, lifted off at 5:24 a.m. ET from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, according to NBC News. Polaris Dawn's Crew Dragon spacecraft separated from the Falcon 9's upper stage a little over 12 minutes after launch, according to Space.com.

Guerard said it eventually disappeared from the sky.
