ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- After beating the Colgate Raiders Friday night, the University of Maine men's hockey team were looking to win two in a row.
But the momentum would be short-lived. The Raiders would get on the board first with just over two minutes remaining in the first period. On the power play, Darcy Murphy would shoot the puck past goaltender Matt Morris. The assist going to Tylor and Tyson Spink. Colgate takes a 1-0 lead going into the first intermission.
The Black Bears would tie this game up in the second period. Dan Renouf beats Zac Hamilton on the glove side for the score. Game is tied at 1 with just over 16 minutes to go in the period. But Colgate would answer right back. On the break, Jake Kulevich with the wrist shot, past Morris. Tyson Spink and Mike Borkowski with the assist. Raiders regain the lead, 2-1.
And the Raiders would break this game wide open in the third period with three goals by Mike Borkowski, Evan Peterson and Tylor Spink.
The Raiders beat the Black Bears 5-1, splitting the weekend series.
