LONDON (AP) - Serena Williams has equaled Steffi Graf's record of 22 Grand Slam singles titles in the Open era with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Angelique Kerber in the Wimbledon final.

It is the seventh championship at the All England Club for the world's top-ranked player, and second straight.

Williams' next goal is Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles.

Williams wrapped up the first set with her only break of Kerber's serve to that point. Williams faced just one break point the entire match and saved it at 3-all in the second set.

Williams' victory avenges a loss to Kerber in the Australian Open final earlier this year.

Williams has another title match today, teaming with sister Venus in the doubles final against Timea Babos of Hungary and Yaroslava Shvedova (shve-DOH'-vuh).
