PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER Maine) — The Portland Sea Dogs are donning patriotic threads Monday to commemorate Memorial Day and they look incredible.
The specialty jerseys feature sleeves with stars and stripes and a graphic of the iconic Pulitzer Prize-winning 1945 war photo Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima, depicting Marines raising a U.S. flag atop Mount Suribachi during World War II's Battle of Iwo Jima.
After the 1 p.m. game against the Reading Fightin Phils, all jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Travis Mills Foundation.
