The Red Sox tweeted late Wednesday night they've traded Andrew Benintendi and cash considerations to the Royals in exchange for Franchy Cordero and two other players.
The two other players are not named at this time.
The Red Sox also received minor league Josh Winckowski and another player from the New York Mets. That player is also not named at this time.
