Reese's Medals arrive in time for Paris Olympics

Like other Reese's holiday favorites, the medals have a higher ratio of peanut butter to chocolate that fans crave.

HERSHEY, Pa. — A sweet partnership is bringing the Summer Olympics to the candy aisle this year.

It's giving Reese's fans a chance to medal alongside their favorite athletes.

In the competitive world of sweet confections, the Hershey Company is king and their top contender has a new winning design.

"Reese's is my favorite candy in the world," Bill told us.

Reese's Medals for the Paris Olympic Games.

This first-ever summer shape has been three years in the making. And like other holiday favorites, it has a higher ratio of peanut butter to chocolate that fans crave.

"They're the best," said Rafael. "And always have the perfect amount of peanut butter."

"We went through a few different Olympic shape possibilities through the development process but what we really loved about the medal was that embodiment of the winner, right," said Shannon, a Hershey's spokesperson.

For some enthusiasts, it's all about the shape.

"I'm always a fan of the Hershey's shape, so I had to try those ones," said Damien.

And this taste of victory is best enjoyed unwrapped.

"It'd probably taste better wouldn't it?" Bill said.

Partnering with Team USA, including soccer legend Alex Morgan and newcomer Sophia Smith, the Reese's newcomer medal may not be silver or gold...

"But this will do," said Anne.

The medals at the Olympic Games won't come this easy, but that's not to say chocolate and peanut butter lovers won't be tested, because making these winning confections last...

"Not a prayer," said Bill. "They're not even going to make the weekend."

In case you were wondering, a single portion of a Reese's Medal will cost you less than two dollars.
