FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — "Unfortunately, a halftime ceremony just doesn’t provide enough time to honor Tommy the way he deserves."
That's what New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said during the ceremony held for Tom Brady at halftime of last season's home opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. That same day, Kraft announced he would waive the standard four-year waiting period and induct Brady into the team's Hall of Fame on Wednesday, June 12.
The ceremony, which will feature former teammates and special guests, is set to take place inside Gillette Stadium beginning at 7 p.m. with NBC’s Mike Tirico hosting.
In 20 years with the Patriots, Brady led New England to six Super Bowl championships, nine AFC Conference crowns, 17 AFC East division titles, and earned three NFL MVP Awards.
Brady is the first player to have the four-year waiting period waived since the current Patriots Hall of Fame guidelines were established in 2007.
