PORTLAND, Maine — Major League Baseball announced this month that Maine-based Luke's Lobster is the new "official lobster roll" of the Boston Red Sox.
The announcement comes shortly before Opening Day at Fenway Park.
"Luke's Lobster, the Maine-based seafood company and restaurant group renowned for its commitment to sustainability and sourcing only the freshest seafood, will offer fans a taste of Maine right in the heart of the ballpark," MLB said in a news release.
According to MLB, the lobster rolls will be available for purchase at two Fenway Park locations: on the 1st base concourse and just outside the park on Jersey Street. Baseball fans alike will be able to order the restaurant's signature lobster roll and New England clam chowder.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Boston Red Sox and bring our lobster rolls to Boston's beloved ballpark, Fenway Park," Luke Holden, CEO and founder of Luke's Lobster, said in the release. "As a company deeply rooted in the Northeast, and fans of America's favorite pastime, we are excited to share our passion for sustainable seafood with Red Sox fans and visitors alike."
Luke's Lobster has been in business for close to 15 years.
"The opening of Luke's Lobster at Fenway Park marks an exciting new partnership in the intersection of sports and dining, bringing together two beloved traditions for an unforgettable experience," Troup Parkinson, EVP of Partnerships with the Boston Red Sox, said in the release. "It's fantastic to have a New England-based brand as the official lobster roll of the Boston Red Sox, providing fresh, locally sourced ingredients to fans right here in the ballpark."
Opening Day at Fenway Park is on April 9. The Red Sox will play against the Baltimore Orioles for their first 2024 regular-season home game.
