PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- It was May of 1994, and the first year Portland Pirates took hockey, and the state by storm winning the Calder Cup.

Now, 20 years later, many of the members of that team are back in town for a celebration.

There was a gathering of teammates Friday night as well as a golf tournament and barbecue Saturday. When Joyce and Tom Ebright brought a hockey team to Portland, little did they know how much success it would have right off the bat, and how connected that team would be to the community. Two decades later, guys like Killer Kaminski, Hulsty, Olie the Goalie and so many more, are still household names for many hockey fans in our state.

"It's been 20 years and we pick up like we just left off," Olaf Kolzig said. "It's amazing how we haven't missed a beat."

And Kevin Kaminski agreed, saying, "You hear one story and it reminds you of another, because we forget a lot! It's going to be a great weekend and we are just getting started."

Former head coach and current Washington Capitals Coach Barry Trotz will be one of the many members of that 1994 team that will be around for the golf tournament at Dunegrass Saturday.
