Police searching for suspect who shot man during home invasion in York

Police say the victim was shot in the leg, and his pickup truck was stolen.

YORK, Maine — York police are searching for a suspect in a home invasion where man was shot early Saturday morning. 

Police have issued an arrest warrant for 27-year-old Nathaniel Rivera of Lowell, Massachusetts in connection with the crime. They say he broke into the victim's home, fired several shots, and stole the man's pickup truck. The truck was later located by police during their investigation. 

Police say the victim was shot in his lower leg and foot, but refused medical treatment on scene. They say he was able to escape to a neighbor's home to call 911. 

Rivera is wanted on several charges, including robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and burglary. 

Police say they believe this is an isolated incident, and the public is not in danger.
