Victoria Rowell, still young at heart and restless at 60 years old

Rowell was born in Portland on May 10, 1959.

PORTLAND, Maine — Reaching 60 years old is no small feat when you've been driven to the brink of insanity and thrown off a cliff.

Those are just a couple of the situations that Victoria Rowell has acted out in her most famous role as Drucilla Winters on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless."

She was born in Portland on May 10, 1959 and grew up in the Maine foster care system. Rowell wrote about her childhood in the memoir "The Women Who Raised Me."

After dabbling in ballet and modeling, Rowell settled into her career as a professional actress.

"The Young and the Restless" made Rowell a fixture of daytime television from 1990 to 2007. But she also left a mark on prime time, acting alongside Dick Van Dyke from 1993 to 2001 on "Diagnosis Murder."

Rowell's big screen credits include "Dumb and Dumber" with Jim Carrey, "The Distinguished Gentleman" with Eddie Murphy, and "Home of the Brave" with Samuel L. Jackson.
