SANFORD, Maine — Firefighters from Sanford and mutual aid departments responded to Montreal Street for a fire at a residence Saturday morning.
The owner told NEWS CENTER Maine they were asleep inside when the fire broke out. The man and his girlfriend were able to escape.
The fire did damage a nearby home. Firefighters remained at the scene for hours following the incident.
