SKOWHEGAN, Maine — One person is dead after a head-on crash involving two vehicles in Skowhegan Tuesday afternoon.
Police say 39-year-old Jeremy Garland, of Skowhegan, was pronounced dead at the scene on U.S. Route 2. The 21-year-old truck driver was treated and released from a local hospital.
Police report that the car drifted across the center line and into the path of the tractor-trailer.
The fatal crash happened near the Dudley Corner School House, according to Skowhegan Police Chief David Bucknam.
Bucknam said the accident involved a car and a Coca-Cola semi-truck. The car was reportedly traveling westbound when it crossed into the eastbound lane and hit the truck head-on.
