SKOWHEGAN, Maine
(NEWS CENTER) -- Senior Brandon Hipple remembers meeting Scott Brown for the first time.
"Scott was the first person I met when I moved to Skowhegan, he showed me around the school and talked me into playing football the first year. I...saw him every single day in class, in school, and he was in my advisory and he was like a brother to me" said Hipple.
Hipple says Brown helped him both on and off the field.
"I learned all the Skowhegan plays from Scott, because he played my position. No matter how big the problem was he'd drop everything he had to do just to help you" said Hipple.
After Scott Brown died Sunday, students from Skowhegan Area High School wrote notes to Brown's family letting them know the positive impact he had on them. When Hipple learned about Brown's death through Facebook, He knew he had to do something.
"And I immediately wanted people to remember him, so I set up a page, about how Scott, how I could remember Scott, and I invited a bunch of people to it just so they could add their remembering to him in" said Hipple.
Hipple wants everyone to know that Scott Brown was always ready to offer a hand.
"To my understanding, a best friend is someone that I can always relay on, and always fall back on, and they will always be there. They'll never lie, or deceive me in anyway and Scott was always that person" said Hipple.
