DURHAM, N.H. — Law enforcement officials in New Hampshire are trying to locate 24-year-old Alexis Garcia.
The University of New Hampshire student was last seen by friends on Thursday, Nov. 21, Durham police said in a press release issued Nov. 27.
Police said they were asked to conduct a welfare check on Garcia after his vehicle, a black 2021 Mercedes, was found at the Scammell Bridge rest area located off Route 4 in Durham.
Durham police determined that the vehicle was parked at that location and unoccupied from 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, until Tuesday, Nov. 26, when it was secured by the department.
Officials describe Garcia as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is originally from Illinois and has ties to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force ROTC.
Police said numerous searches have been conducted in cooperation with the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office, New Hampshire State Police, New Hampshire Fish and Game, and New Hampshire Marine Patrol.
In a Dec. 12 update, police said investigators believe Garcia may have been wearing white sneakers, dark colored pants, and a plaid button-up shirt over a grey or light colored hooded sweatshirt at the time he was last seen.
Officials say anyone who may have information should contact the Durham Police Department. Information can be emailed directly to detective@ci.durham.nh.us.
