(NEWS CENTER) — Maine's Speaker of the House says Gov. LePage's voicemail scandal is damaging Maine's reputation on one of the most important tourism weekends of the year.
In a statement released to the media, Speaker Mark Eves said…
"...people all over this country are reading about whether they should boycott Maine. This is outrageous and damaging to hard working Mainers across our state who depend on strong tourism for their livelihood."
He also reiterated his opinion that the full Legislature needs to hold a special session to impeach the governor.
Speaker Eves asked all members of the House on Friday if they would want to reconvene to talk about Gov. LePage.
They have until Tuesday evening to respond.
