(NEWS CENTER) — Outgoing Speaker of the House Mark Eves has lost his appeal of a civil lawsuit against Gov. LePage.
The lawsuit against LePage was filed in 2015 but thrown out earlier this year by a federal judge.
It was over Eves' appointment as president of the Goodwill-Hinckley Charter School.
Officials rescinded the job after the LePage threatened to withhold funding for the school. Eves claimed it was blackmail.
In a 2-to-1 ruling, a federal appeal panel again ruled in favor of LePage, stating the governor has discretion when it comes to budgetary issues and is immune from the lawsuit.
