Arrest warrant issued for Sanford state representative

Sanford Deputy Chief of Police Matthew Gagne confirmed with NEWS CENTER Maine Sunday evening the warrant stems from domestic violence charges.

SANFORD, Maine — The Sanford Police Department has an active warrant out for the arrest of Maine State Rep. Lucas Lanigan, R- Sanford.

As of Sunday evening, police are still seeking Lanigan and have not yet made an arrest.

Lanigan holds a seat in the House's 141st District, which comprises parts of Shapleigh, Newfield, Sanford, and Springvale. He was elected into the House in 2022 and seeks reelection in November.

Gagne said no additional information was available at this time.
