Eves no longer seeking money in appeal; Good Will-Hinckley names president

(NEWS CENTER) — Speaker of the House Mark Eves is moving forward with his appeal of a dismissed lawsuit against Governor Paul LePage — but this time, he isn't asking for any money.

Eves said this appeal is about holding the governor accountable. His lawyer filed a brief seeking the federal court of appeals to declare Lepage broke the law.

Eves sued LePage, saying LePage cost him a job as the president of Good Will-Hinckley. LePage told the school he would withhold funding if Speaker Eves was President.

A ruling on the appeal could come in the fall.

Meanwhile, Good Will-Hinckley appointed a new president. The charter school tapped longtime public school superintendent Kenneth Coville.

The interim president, Robert Moody, will now serve as Executive Director.
