MAINE, USA — The Biden campaign has announced that and former Democratic candidate for president Mass. Sen. Elizabeth Warren will travel to Maine and New Hampshire on behalf of their campaign this Saturday.
Warren will first head to Manchester, N.H. to host a "Vote Now" socially distanced rally, set for 11:45 a.m. The rally will focus on all the ways Granite Staters can vote.
Later in the afternoon, Warren will be joined by Maine State Sen. Nate Libby and Maine AFL-CIO President Cynthia Phinney for a socially distanced rally in Lewiston "to get out the vote, encourage in-person early voting, and mobilize supporters, students, and union workers to support the Biden-Harris ticket." The rally is set for 4:20 p.m.
Warren joins her fellow former candidates for president who have backed Biden on the campaign trail. Last weekend, Vt. Sen. Bernie Sanders resumed in-person campaigning with events in battleground states like N.H. and Michigan.
Sanders' campaign stops were focused on voting and educating supporters on voting options in their respective states. It's not yet clear what Warren's events' themes will be.
Warren ended her bid for president in early March. Her path to victory was put in serious doubt after she finished a surprisingly weak third place in her home state's Democratic primary, being edged out by Biden and Sanders.
In April, Warren announced her support of Biden.
“Joe Biden has spent nearly his entire life in public service. He knows that a government run with integrity, competence, and heart will save lives and save livelihoods,” Warren said in a nearly four-minute video announcing her decision. “And we can’t afford to let Donald Trump continue to endanger the lives and livelihoods of every American.”
