WASHINGTON — Victoria Lee, an 18-year-old MMA fighter known as "The Prodigy," has died.
Angela Lee, who is also an MMA fighter, shared on Saturday that her younger sister had died on Dec. 26, 2022.
"She has gone too soon and our family has been completely devastated since then," her sister wrote. "Victoria was the most beautiful soul who ever lived. She was the best little sister in the world."
The 18-year-old's cause of death has not been released.
"We miss her. More than anything in this world. Our family will never be the same. Life will never be the same," her sister added.
ONE Championship, a combat sports media platform where the MMA fighter had earned three victories, posted a tribute to Lee on Twitter.
"The ONE Championship team is devastated over the tragic passing of Victoria Lee," the tweet read. "We send our most heartfelt condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time. "
ONE Championship’s CEO Chatri Sityodtong also shared a tribute to the star on Facebook.
"I first met Victoria when she was 11 years old. I watched her blossom over the years as a martial artist and a human being," the post read. "Victoria had the purest heart of gold and a brilliant mind. She looked after others before herself. She wanted to use her life to help the world. I will always remember Victoria for the beautiful and precious soul that she was."
Lee's siblings Angela and Christian are ONE World Champions. Her younger brother Adrian had recently won an amateur title in December.
The 18-year-old's last victory was against Victoria Souza in September 2021.
