WINDHAM, Maine — A man from Windham has died after being struck by a tree Monday during a windstorm.
Troy Olson, 40, was working to clear debris off the roof of his home on Vance Drive when he was hit by a piece of a tree that broke off, "killing him immediately," Windham police Chief Kevin Schofield said Monday evening in a press release.
The incident happened around noon.
Windham police and fire crews responded to the call, and the incident is ruled an accidental death, according to the police department.
"The Windham Police Department extends its deepest condolence to Mr. Olson's family and friends," Schofield wrote.
