WESTBROOK, Maine — The Westbrook Police Department made an arrest Tuesday in connection to a shooting that was reported on Friday.
The department made the announcement Wednesday in a Facebook post. Police charged 33-year-old Jason Havanki of Westbrook with aggravated reckless conduct and violating conditions of release.
Police said they started receiving reports between 11:30 p.m. and midnight about a series of gunshots heard overnight. They accused Havanki of firing several rounds into the air while walking on East Valentine Street.
Westbrook police said they served a search warrant of Havanki's home. They said during that search, investigators found the gun they believe was used in the shooting. Police said they seized the gun.
"As a result of the investigation, WPD yesterday identified, located, and arrested the suspect," Westbrook police said in the post.
Havanki was arrested without incident and is being held at Cumberland County Jail without bail. Police expected him to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
